Laurence Thériault-Lainé explores the surreal landscape inspired by dreams and the sensation of weightlessness they evoke. For her, dreams offer the potential to take flight to an imaginary world. Her works capture this absence of gravity that characterizes them.

In her practice, Laurence refers to elements that carry this lightness, which she transforms digitally. These twisted elements become organic forms with synthetic accents, oscillating between abstraction and figuration. They are the abstract progression of real-world referents, transferred into atmospheric scenes and translated into painting. Halfway between the virtual and the material, Laurence transposes digital aesthetics into an instinctive pictorial medium that explores the boundary between the familiar and the unknown.
