Kristina Chan

August 16 – September 6, 2025

Duran Contemporain | Montréal

Duran Contemporain is pleased to present an exhibition of recent works by Kristina Chan, a Canadian artist based in London, UK. Chan’s practice explores the relationship between landscape, memory, and image through experimental photographic processes and printmaking techniques.

The exhibition brings together five photopolymer etchings, Ascent, Caldera, Descent, Grotto, and Thicket, some of which are enhanced with chine collée. These works feature dense natural environments rendered with precision and atmospheric layering. Also presented are four photographs, Megaflora, Moonrise, The Crater, and The Crater II, printed on Japanese Kozo paper, where material fragility and narrative depth converge.

Rooted in site-specific research and meticulous technique, this body of work offers an introspective journey through constructed and remote environments. Chan reflects on the act of looking, tracing the fragile boundaries between documentation and evocation.

The artist will not be present at the opening.
