Duran Contemporain at CAN Madrid Art Fair
Booth B24
Duran Contemporain is pleased to announce its participation in CAN Madrid Art Fair, booth B24. The presentation brings together new paintings and drawings by Inés Fernández-Shaw with figurative paintings by Rosalie Gamache and Michelle Paterok.
The booth proposes a focused dialogue between emerging artistic positions from Montreal and Madrid. Through this selection, the gallery foregrounds shared concerns around figuration, material sensitivity, and the construction of image, while allowing distinct cultural and formal approaches to remain clearly articulated.
Fernández-Shaw’s new works explore drawing and painting as interconnected modes of inquiry, emphasizing process, gesture, and structural tension. Gamache and Paterok contribute figurative paintings that reflect recent developments in Montreal’s painting scene, marked by careful observation, compositional rigor, and an engagement with the psychological dimensions of representation.
Together, these works build bridges between generations and geographies, positioning emerging Montreal-based painters alongside a new wave of figurative practice rooted in Madrid. The presentation underscores Duran Contemporain’s commitment to fostering sustained exchanges between artists whose practices are shaped by different contexts yet resonate through shared formal and conceptual concerns.
