After graduating in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona in 2011, Iñigo Sesma moved to New York, where he continued his studies at the National School and Academy of Arts and the School of Visual Arts. He completed his education with a master's degree in Painting from the University of the Basque Country (UPV) in 2016.

After establishing his studio in San Sebastián, he undertook several international artist residencies, including Berlin, Germany, in 2015 and Los Angeles, United States, in 2017. That same year, he was selected as a finalist for the BP Portrait by the National Gallery in London, and his work was exhibited in the United Kingdom and Scotland.

He has participated in group and solo exhibitions in Spain and abroad, including solo exhibitions in Los Angeles in 2018 and Paris in 2020. He has also taken part in international art fairs such as Scope in Miami, Urban Art Fair in Paris, and Moniker Art Fair in New York.

He is currently based in San Sebastián, in northern Spain, where he complements his studio practice with outdoor murals that have become an extension of his pictorial language. In recent years, he has painted murals in cities across the United States, Spain, Greece, Croatia, Belgium, and Australia, among other places.

Immersed in both his settings and the distinctive qualities of his characters, Iñigo explores the creative process on physical and emotional levels. His work resembles a pictorial documentary built from his own experiences and observations during his many travels.

Drawing on a cinematic language inspired by American narratives of the early 1960s, Iñigo creates paintings that explore the diversity of cultures, communities, urban spaces, architecture, and landscapes. Rather than following conventional narratives, his work portrays the atmosphere and human condition of the places he visits, transforming his images into his most honest depiction of everyday beauty.
